Friends and colleagues in the global wushu community,
新年肇始，万象更新。值此2026年新年到来之际，我谨代表国际武术联合会，向世界各地武术爱好者、运动员、教练员、裁判员、工作人员，以及长期关心和支持武术事业的朋友们，致以诚挚的节日问候和美好的新年祝福!
As the New Year dawns, bringing renewal and fresh beginnings, I would like, on behalf of the International Wushu Federation, to extend my warmest greetings and best wishes for 2026 to wushu enthusiasts, athletes, coaches, judges, officials, and staff around the world, as well as to all friends who have long cared for and supported the development of wushu.
过去一年，在大家共同努力下，武术运动持续蓬勃发展，竞技体系日趋专业规范，传统根基不断夯实，青少年教育日益普及，国际武联会员协会已增至162个，武术全球化基础更为坚实。巴西利亚世界武术锦标赛、峨眉山世界传统武术锦标赛等多项国际赛事成功举办，武术更首次作为正式项目亮相2025年成都世运会，并成功进入非洲中学生运动会、伊斯兰团结运动会等综合性赛事，进一步点燃了全球武术热情。
Over the past year, through our collective efforts, wushu has continued to thrive. Its competitive system has become increasingly professional and standardized, its traditional foundations further strengthened, and youth education more widely promoted. The number of IWUF Member Associations has grown to 162, reinforcing the solid foundations of wushu’s global development. Multiple international events—including the World Wushu Championships in Brasília and the World Kungfu Championships in Emeishan—were successfully staged. Notably, wushu made its debut as an official sport at The World Games 2025 in Chengdu and was included in major multi-sport events such as the African School Games and the Islamic Solidarity Games, further igniting global enthusiasm for our sport.
特别令人振奋的是，联合国教科文组织于今年11月正式确立每年3月21日为"国际太极拳日"，这标志着太极拳所蕴含的和谐、平衡、自然之道，再次获得世界广泛认同。此外，我们荣幸邀请李连杰先生担任"全球武术推广001号志愿者"、吴京先生担任国际武联新任形象大使，他们将助力武术在全球的传播、弘扬与发展。这些成绩的取得，离不开各会员协会的团结协作和每一位武术同仁的辛勤付出。在此，我谨向大家表示衷心感谢！同时也感谢恒源祥、李宁、泰山体育、伟志兴体育等合作伙伴的持续支持，为武术发展注入了宝贵动力。
One particularly inspiring milestone was UNESCO’s official designation this past November of March 21 as “International Taijiquan Day”. This recognition reflects the growing global appreciation of the values embodied in Taijiquan—harmony, balance, and unity with nature. We were also honored to welcome Mr. Jet Li as Global Wushu Promotion Volunteer No. 1 and Mr. Wu Jing as the new IWUF Image Ambassador. Their support will further enhance the global promotion and development of wushu. These achievements would not have been possible without the unity and dedication of our Member Associations and every colleague in the wushu community. I extend my sincere gratitude to you all. I would also like to express heartfelt thanks to our partners—including HengYuanXiang, Li-Ning, Taishan Sports, and Weising Sports—whose continued support has provided invaluable momentum for wushu’s growth.
展望2026，武术将首次亮相达喀尔青奥会，开启奥运征程新篇章，天津世界青少年武术锦标赛等重要赛事也将陆续举行。同仁们，朋友们，武术跨越山海，融贯文明。让我们携手并肩，把握时代机遇，以武载道，以武促和，推动武术更好地服务于各国人民身心健康与文明交流，为构建人类命运共同体贡献积极力量。
Looking ahead to 2026, wushu will make its historic debut at the Dakar Youth Olympic Games, opening a new chapter in its Olympic journey. Important events such as the World Junior Wushu Championships in Tianjin will also take place. Colleagues and friends, wushu transcends borders and connects civilizations. Let us stand shoulder to shoulder, seize the opportunities of our time, convey the spirit of wushu, and promote harmony through its practice. Together, we will advance wushu to better serve the physical and mental well-being of people worldwide and foster cultural exchange, contributing positively to the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.
